A Sonnet for my Sister's Wedding
I've closed my eyes on wishes lost,
For it's not where I've found my dream;
For dreams to me have come to mean
Not looking back on bridges crossed.
Have I found it in ocean's breeze,
Or warming light where life begins?
Is it in touch as soft as sin,
Or in the song of rustling trees?
I've found through open heart and sole,
Through breathing lips that made me whole,
And trembling voice before the moon;
Not passing year's could make me swoon,
Nor hope itself shall be to blame,
My future lies beside your name.
